First, travel from Ljubljana to the Škocjan Caves. Discover a vast underground karst formation with a variety of natural wonders. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is one of the largest underground canyons in the world and home to a thriving cave ecosystem. Explore this vast underground chamber which has traces of inhabitation since prehistoric times. Then, travel to the Rakov Škocjan Regional Park and discover the routes of various karstic rivers. Stop at Lake Cerknica, one of the largest intermittent lakes in Europe before enjoying some time for lunch, at your own expense. After lunch, continue the tour to the picturesque Podpeč Lake along the Ljubljana Marshes. You have the option of taking a refreshing swim here. The Ljubljana Marshes are also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a beautiful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
