Description
This full-day tour departs from Zagreb and explores Slovenia’s Lake Bled and Ljubljana, ideal for culture and nature enthusiasts.
After crossing the border into Slovenia, enjoy a scenic drive through rolling hills, meadows, and forests while learning about Slovenian culture and traditions from your guide. Your first stop is Lake Bled, framed by the Julian Alps, featuring emerald-green waters and a small island with a Baroque church.
Visit Bled Castle, one of Slovenia’s oldest medieval fortresses perched on a cliff, offering panoramic views of the lake, the island church, and alpine scenery. You will have time to explore and photograph this historic site.
At the lakeshore, try Bled’s signature dessert, kremšnita, a layered vanilla cream and custard pastry served overlooking the lake. Optionally, take a traditional Pletna wooden boat ride to the Church of the Assumption on the island for an authentic local experience (additional cost).
In the afternoon, travel to Ljubljana, Slovenia’s car-free capital. Your guide leads a walking tour through the old town, including the Triple Bridge, Dragon Bridge, Prešeren Square, and the medieval castle, while sharing insights into the city’s history and architecture.
