Begin with a briefing on eBiking rules before a panoramic ride from the hilltop. Views stretch from Italy across the Slovenian coast to Croatia. Descend to Fiesa lake, a small border of the Adriatic Sea known for one of Slovenia’s nicest beaches.
Ride towards Piran, passing under cliffs to Santa Gorgas Church, then continue through narrow streets to Cape Madona and Tartini Square. See the Tartini Theatre, Municipal Palace, Maritime Museum, Aquarium, Marine Biological Station, Baroque House, and Apollonio Palace.
From Piran, cycle through Bernardin to the busy tourist town of Portorož, known as the “Port of Roses.”
Next, follow the Parenzana trail through two tunnels and Strunjan valley, then past Izola, biking along the beach to Škocjanski zatok Nature Reserve near Koper. This protected area combines brackish and freshwater habitats with nesting islands, saltmarshes, and mudflats home to rare wildlife and plants.
Explore the old town of Koper with its Roman origins and Venetian architectural heritage. Key sights include Praetorian Palace, Taverna Koper, Muda Gate, Fountain Da Ponte, Carpaccio House, Foresteria, and Armeria.
Continue biking by the beach on the Parenzana trail to Izola, a town known for fishing, wine, and olive oil production. Visit St. Maver church and explore narrow streets leading to the Dobrava viewpoint on Strunjan peninsula, overlooking Strunjan Bay, Italy, and the Alps.
Descend from Dobrava to Strunjan’s Cross with views of Moon Bay and its cliffs. Pass the church of the Marian apparition, Stjuža Sea Lagoon, and Strunjan salt pans full of natural life.
