The complete Lake Bled experience: seen from above, not from the lakeshore.
Most visitors to Bled walk around the lake. They take the same photo from the same angle as everyone else. This tour is for travelers who want more - the full panoramic experience, from the three iconic viewpoints that locals and photographers know are the best in Slovenia.
We'll guide you on a moderate half-day hike to Ojstrica, Mala Osojnica, and Velika Osojnica, three connected summits on the western side of the lake, each offering a different angle of the famous postcard view.
From up here, the lake glows turquoise, the island church looks like a fairy tale, and the Julian Alps stand watch in the distance.
How the day works
Your guide picks you up at your accommodation in Bled and drives you to the trailhead. From there, we follow a well-marked forest trail through switchbacks and shaded woodland to the first viewpoint, Ojstrica.
The famous bench here gives you the iconic shot: lake, island, and castle perfectly aligned.
From Ojstrica, the trail continues to Velika Osojnica, the highest of the three viewpoints, with the most expansive panorama over the lake and the surrounding mountains.
We finish at Mala Osojnica, the third viewpoint, with the most photographed angle in Bled and a steep metal staircase descent that's safer with a guide than alone.
The whole hike covers about 5 km with 300 m of elevation gain. It takes 2.5–3 hours of walking with stops at each viewpoint.
It's a real hike, not a flat walk, but no climbing experience is needed and the trail is well within reach for most reasonably fit adults.
Why book this with a guide?
The trailhead is easy to miss without local knowledge. The Mala Osojnica staircase is steep and intimidating to first-time visitors. And without a guide, most travelers only get to one or two of the three viewpoints — not all three.
We solve all of that, and we know exactly which viewpoint has the best angle in different light and seasons.

Important Information
- This is a real hike, not a casual walk. The route is 5 km with 300 m of elevation gain and takes 2.5–3 hours of walking. You should be comfortable with uneven forest trails, switchbacks, and a steep metal staircase descent on the Mala Osojnica section. Suitable for ages 10 and up
- You'll need closed-toe shoes with good grip. No sandals or flip-flops. Mountain weather changes quickly, so bring a light waterproof jacket even on sunny days
- Don't have the right gear? No problem. We run the most fully-equipped mountaineering rental shop in Slovenia
- The tour runs in light rain. In case of heavy rain or thunderstorms, we'll reschedule or refund
- We offer one daily transfer from Bled back to Ljubljana, usually departing between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Depending on the tour’s finishing time, you may need to wait a few hours in Bled. This gives you a great opportunity to explore the town and visit Lake Bled, Slovenia’s most famous attraction, before returning to Ljubljana
