Description
Depart from Zagreb in the morning and travel to Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital. Take a guided tour of the old city center, seeing key works by architect Jože Plečnik and admiring Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings. Discover local markets and hear stories about Napoleon’s popularity, the meaning behind Slovenia’s name, and the origins of the Triple Bridge.
After free time to explore independently, continue to the Alpine resort of Bled. Enjoy a scenic drive around Lake Bled, then board a traditional wooden boat (Pletna) to reach the island. Visit Bled Castle, the oldest castle in Slovenia, perched above the lake, and sample the traditional Bled cream cake while taking in the lake views from the castle terrace.
Return to Zagreb in the evening and be dropped off at your original location.
