Your driver will meet you at your hotel lobby or designated address a few minutes before pick-up for a fully private day tour to Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana, and Lake Bled. During the drive from Vienna to Ljubljana, you will stop briefly at a highway rest area and pass through Austrian and Slovenian countryside.

Ljubljana, Slovenia’s largest city with around 300,000 residents, serves as the country’s cultural, educational, economic, political, and administrative center. The first settlements appeared in the early 1st century along the Ljubljanica River, with the city first mentioned in the 12th century. Historically the capital of Carniola, Ljubljana sits on an important trade route between the northern Adriatic Sea and the Danube region.

Upon arrival, a local professional guide will meet you at the city center entrance for a two-hour walking tour. The guide will explain the city’s and country’s history while highlighting major landmarks and local myths, including the Dragon Bridge and its symbolism of power, courage, and greatness. Key sites include Prešeren Square with the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, Town Square with the Town Hall, Ljubljana Cathedral, National Gallery, Robba Fountain, Slovenian Philharmonic Building, and the Triple Bridge.

After the walking tour, you will have time to explore Ljubljana’s Old Town independently and enjoy lunch. Then you will travel to Lake Bled in the Julian Alps. Lake Bled features an island with the pilgrimage church of the Assumption of Mary and the medieval Bled Castle on the north shore, which houses a museum.

Your driver will meet you at a pre-arranged location after your free time at Lake Bled and will return you to Vienna.
