Description
Lake Bled, set against the Julian Alps, features a lake island with a church, a medieval castle on a cliff, and natural viewpoints. The tour begins with hotel pickup in Ljubljana and a one-hour drive to Bled.
Your first stop is Bled Castle, perched 130 meters above the lake. From the castle, enjoy panoramic views of the lake and island, then explore the museum to learn its history. You will also taste kremšnita, Bled’s traditional cream cake.
Next, you will stroll along the lake’s shore with free time to relax, photograph, or explore with the guide. During this time, see the Grand Hotel Toplice, Villa Bled—the former residence of Marshal Josip Broz Tito—and the iconic lake island church. The tour also includes a visit to the Olympic Rowing Center and an introduction to Arnold Rikli, who helped establish Bled as a health destination in the 19th century.
