This small-group tour departs from a central pick-up point in Ljubljana, traveling by air-conditioned minivan to the Škocjan Caves and the Slovenian coast.
During the approximately one-hour drive, enjoy rural Slovenian scenery while your guide shares insights about the Škocjan Caves.
At Škocjan, take a two-hour guided tour of the caves. This UNESCO site features a vast underground river gorge with colorful stalactites, stalagmites, limestone pools, waterfalls, and expansive halls. The sheer volume of the underground canyon distinguishes these caves as one of the world's notable underground formations.
After the caves, visit Socerb Castle, located on the Karst Plateau cliff edge. The castle ruins offer extensive views over the Slovenian coast and the Gulf of Trieste, a site with historical significance since Illyrian times.
The tour then continues to Piran, a well-preserved coastal town with narrow medieval streets, historic houses, churches, and squares. Explore Venetian architecture and enjoy local food or a coffee break by the sea.
The tour concludes with return drop-off at the central meeting point in Ljubljana.
