Description
After a short drive from Ljubljana, visit the famous Alpine sites of Lakes Bled and Bohinj, plus Vintgar Gorge. Sports enthusiasts can choose optional rafting on the Sava River.
Start in Bled, an Alpine resort beneath the Julian Alps. Ascend the castle overlooking glacial Lake Bled. From the castle terraces, enjoy views of the lake and its island. Take a traditional “Pletna” boat ride to Bled Island, the only true island in Slovenia.
Continue to Vintgar Gorge, a natural canyon with wooden pathways across the Radovna River. The hike ends at Sum Waterfall, which is 13 meters high.
Next, visit Lake Bohinj, the largest glacial lake in Slovenia, located within Triglav National Park. Options here include swimming, canoeing, or walking around the lake to appreciate the natural surroundings.
On the return to Ljubljana, stop in Skofja Loka, one of Slovenia’s oldest and best-preserved medieval towns. Explore the town center located near the castle and monastery.
The tour ends with return to Ljubljana in the late afternoon.
