What if you found gold in Slovenia?
Embark on an adventure along the banks of the Drava River, near Maribor, and discover the fascinating world of gold panning.
During this 3-hour experience, I will personally accompany you in your search for gold.
Each person leaves with the gold flakes they have found, kept in a small vial provided at the end of the session as a souvenir. Finding gold flakes is guaranteed :)
How does the adventure unfold?
Theoretical part:
- Local history of gold
- Learn to 'read' the river to understand where gold can be concentrated
Practical part:
- Collecting gold-bearing materials from the river gravel
- Use of the sieve and the pan (method of a French champion)
- Discover your first flakes and learn how to collect them
At the end of the experience, you will leave with your gold flakes, your gold panning certificate and some souvenir photos.
The activity is suitable for beginners and family-friendly.
Younger children can participate and will team up with me to beat the parents, haha. Ages 6 and up.
Groups are limited to 4 people (5 if a family or group of friends), so you benefit from advice and personalized help throughout your search.
This workshop will allow you to acquire an ancestral skill.
Meeting place:
- If you have a car: go to a parking lot near a spot.
- You don't have a car: I will pick you up at the Maribor train station or your hotel.
Meeting time:
20 minutes before your 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, or 4:00 PM slot.
Bring with you:
- Drink.
- Closed-toe shoes such as Crocs, Medusas, or water shoes - water shoes can be loaned if needed.
- Hat or cap (caps available to purchase) if the weather is sunny + sunscreen.
- 'XP Metal Detectors' gold panning equipment is provided on loan for the introductory session.
- Insurance: the participant is responsible for checking that they have insurance coverage suitable for outdoor leisure activities.
- WEATHER:
Sunny or light rain = introductory session goes ahead.
Heavy rain or thunderstorms = cancellation or postponement; you can opt for a full refund.
