Meet in Bovec where you will be transported by car or gondola to the takeoff points on Kanin or Mangart. Your certified local pilot will prepare all necessary equipment, provide safety instructions, and guide you throughout your flight. Flights take place over the emerald Soča River valley, surrounded by the Julian Alps near the Adriatic Sea. This location offers a unique combination of warm climate and mountainous terrain, rich in diverse flora and fauna.
Flight Launch Sites
- Mangart: At 2679 meters, Mangart is Slovenia’s third highest peak. Flights offer views of the Slovenian, Italian, and Austrian Alps, as well as waterfalls on the Predelca and Koritnica rivers. Launch is from the Mangart saddle, on the highest mountain road in Slovenia. Landings are in the mountain village Log pod Mangartom.
- Kobariški Stol: Slovenia’s longest mountain ridge stretches from Kobarid to Gemona in Italy. It often provides excellent thermal soaring conditions. Flights cover the Nadiža valley and the Soča River with wide views including the Julian Alps, Adriatic Sea, and nearby coastlines. Landing takes place in Kobarid.
- Kuk: The highest peak in the Kolovrat mountains, Kuk allows launches in both southern and northern winds. Flights provide sights of the Julian Alps, Carnic Alps, Dolomites, and Adriatic Sea. Landing occurs in Kobarid or Ladra.
- Kanin: The highest ski resort in Slovenia offers panoramic gondola rides to the takeoff point on ski slopes. Flights follow the Soča River and feature views of both the Adriatic Sea and Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain. Landings are on the eastern edge of the Bovec valley.
